Key Eligibility Criteria:
- Be under 45 years of age

- Obtain a positive skills assessment for the nominated occupation
- Score at least 60 points independently, and obtain 5 points through state nomination to meet the minimum 65-point requirement
- Demonstrate Competent English (e.g., IELTS 6.0 in each band)
- Meet Australian health and character requirements

Each state and territory sets its own nomination criteria, which typically consider the applicant’s occupation, language proficiency, and work experience. While Competent English is the baseline requirement, certain jurisdictions may impose higher English scores, occupation-specific experience, or residency conditions depending on their economic priorities and migration strategies.
The 190 visa is a strong choice for professionals whose skills align with state-based demand and who are open to settling in a specific region. With state nomination adding 5 points toward the points test, this visa can enhance the chances of receiving an invitation to apply.
